Platysmaplasty (Neck Lift)

Corset Platysmaplasty or Neck Lift is a surgery designed to reduce the loose look under the jaw line and neck area. Some patients who complain of having a fleshy neck, jowls, or turkey wattle can benefit from this procedure. Many times patients choose to have a neck lift at the same time as a face lift and/or brow lift.

The neck lift is accomplished with a small incision under the chin and behind or under the ear with the sections of skin being trimmed and lifted into place, then sutured. Also, tissue fat is removed, if needed, with the ends sutured together at the front section of the neck, then brought together under or behind the ear to further firm up the appearance of the neck.   This procedure is often performed in conjunction with neck liposuction.
