Background Information

Oral and maxillofacial surgery encompasses the art and science of diagnosis, surgical and related treatment of diseases, injuries, deformities, defects and esthetic aspects of the oral and maxillofacial area. The word ''maxillofacial'' refers to the jaws and face.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires many additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia post doctoral training. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Ford manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, jaws and facial regions. Dr. Ford practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from  tooth removal and dental implant placement to head and neck cancer, corrective jaw,  and facial cosmetic surgery. We also diagnose and treat soft and hard tissue pathology and perform reparative surgery to  facial injuries including lacerations and facial fractures. Our facility is also equipped with the latest in laser technology to treat a wide variety of head and neck skin disorders including removal of unwanted facial hair and acne.

Our staff is trained in assisting with  outpatient general anesthesia or sedation in our state-of-the-art AAAHC certified ambulatory surgical center. We also have a fully certified operating room with anesthesiologist/CRNA services for more complex surgical procedures.
